Portraits of refugees camped at Idomeni, Greece and the things that they had brought with them from home. In some cases, these were specific items that they cherished; in other cases, they were simply the items that were left after the rest of their possessions were lost or abandoned en route, photographed for ABC News. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
Adham Alhinde, of Syria, poses for a portrait at a refugee camp on the Macedonian (FYROM) border on March 10, 2016 in Idomeni, Greece. Alhinde brought with him his house keys, despite the fact that his house was destroyed by a bomb, injuring his arm severely. On the keychain are football shoes and a emblem expressing support for Palestine. Additionally, he brough pain medication for his injuries, a ring from his mother and a ring from his girlfriend, a lighter, and a pair of socks to protect against the cold.
