After Russia Invaded Ukraine

Yura, a volunteer who helped investigators from the Kharkiv Prosecutor’s Office exhume the remains of Valery Yuriyovich Kot, pets a stray dog on May 23, 2022 in Mala Rohan, Ukraine. Preliminary investigations indicate Kot died from bullet wounds, during a time when Russian forces controlled the village. During periods of intense fighting, lacking normal funeral services, villagers resorted to temporarily burying the dead in their yards.
